Forest Art Wisconsin - Native/Invasive

Wolfgang Folmer, Germany

Wolfgang Folmer, Germany »Stamm-Bilder-Weg«

Wolfgang Folmer will work on a 25 foot basswood trunk which has been debarked, flatly planed and dyed black. He starts with a fine carved line network which reminds of bark´s beetle tracks. From these tracks he develops single motifs which condense to complicated picture stories and ask the visitor to go along the trunk. For Folmer the point is to let in and approach as a kind of internal dialog with the fallen tree.
